Volunteers benefit easilink in the following ways:

Our organisation through increased capacity.

Our members through additional service delivery.

Themselves through training, enhancing their skills and experience and valuing their own contribution.

King’s Award for Voluntary Service Nominee

Towards the middle of 2023 we were delighted to be informed that our organisation had been nominated for this prestigious award.

About The Kings Award for Voluntary Service

Every day, millions of people across the UK are making a difference by volunteering. Each year, outstanding examples of this work are celebrated through the King’s Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS).

Created in 2002 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee and previously known as The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS), the Award has been shining a light on the fantastic work of voluntary groups from all across the UK for many years. Equivalent to an MBE, KAVS is the highest Award given to local voluntary groups in the UK, and they are awarded for life.

Easilink Volunteer Car Drivers provide over 25% of the total rural Dial a Lift trips. Our volunteers are committed and caring and are critical to the success of our organisation.

We are extremely lucky to have a pool of 38 dedicated fully trained volunteers who make up our ‘Social Car Scheme’. You will see from the figures below that Easilink’s volunteers play a crucial role in the delivery of services across our 3 operational areas. During this financial year, volunteers provided a total of 12,424 Passenger Trips. This represents a year-on-year increase of 17% from last year’s figure of 10,602 Passenger Trips. The trips that our volunteers make, equates to 40% of all the passenger trips which we deliverand plays a hugely significant role in the day to day running of our organisation
